Mechatronics in Medical Rehabilitation

University of Belgrade

This study program is realized with the cooperation with the following institutions:
University of Belgrade
University of Belgrade
Level:  master academic studies
Upon end of the studies student will receive a title: Master in Medical Rehabilitation
Mechatronics in medical rehabilitation is a joint master program of the University of Belgrade, University of Novi Sad and the State University of Novi Pazar. The program has been developed for students from the fields of technical sciences as well as for students who have their preparatory knowledge gained in the field of medical sciences. Studies last two semesters.

Goals of study program

The objectives of the program relating to students with the technical knowledge to the understanding of the technical requirements enable to design models for the implementation of mechatronics in rehabilitation and to put into practice. They need to improve and supplement their knowledge in the design of medical equipment and mechatronic systems, with an understanding of the principles of operation of skeletal-muscular and neuro-control system in the human body for the purposes of clinical rehabilitation. Students with medical previous knowledge will, through a deeper understanding of the tools and their potential, with the knowledge of human needs after the onset of disability will be able to choose an appropriate, effective system for rehabilitation, which will improve the quality of treatment and ensure a higher degree of recovery. They will gain basic knowledge in the field of mechatronics, control, application apparatus for measuring and stimulation of movement, performance and management of the movement of people with special needs. The aim of the study program is the integration of knowledge of technical and medical sciences oriented toward the implementation of modern devices in medical rehabilitation.

Outcome of study program

Participants will be able to:
  1. design model for the implementation of mechatronics in rehabilitation and to integrate into practice
  2. to choose an appropriate, effective system for rehabilitation which will provide a higher level and quality of treatment.

Prerequisite for attending study program

The candidates who have completed undergraduate academic studies in the field of technical-technological or medical sciences that are worth at least 240 can apply for the admission to this study programme.
