Religion in Society, Culture and European Integration

Level:  master academic studies
Upon end of the studies student will receive a title: master in religion
Study program "Religion in society, culture and european integration" has an international character. Studies include seven compulsory, five elective courses. During the summer and winter semester in the first year of study, students attend intensive classes in Belgrade. Lecturers are professors at the University of Belgrade, University of Trier, University of London. The professors of the mentioned universities will host and keep their lectures at the University of Belgrade. The fourth semester is to work with a mentor and writing the final paper. Professors from the University of Belgrade will be mentors in the preparation of papers and professors from other universities may be members of the commission. Students are required to attend lectures during the first three semesters, participating in exercises.


Goals of study program

The aim of the study program is that candidates gain the educational foundation and concrete knowledge about the phenomenon of religion and its role in contemporary society, culture and the processes of European and global integration, through a comparative and interdisciplinary approach.


Outcome of study program

Student acquires the following general competencies:
  • Mastery of traditional and modern methods of interdisciplinary research and writing papers;
  • Involvement in research projects;
  • The development of critical thinking and original research approaches;
  • Communication and cooperation in domestic and international environment.


Prerequisite for attending study program

Eligible candidates are university graduates with degree from three year-long bachelor programs (180 ECTS).
